• Description : The Margaret River Community Pantry is a not-for-profit community organisation that targets early interventions to food insecurity. The Community Pantry works with local farmers, producers, businesses and the hospitality industry to provide access to safe and affordable food before people find themselves in need of emergency relief. What the Community Pantry provides: -We redistribute fresh produce, groceries, toiletries and cleaning products donated from retail outlets. - Our volunteers will create simple and nutritious ready meals for the Pantry’s redistribution days. - Our food literacy program will invite small groups for meal preparation classes culminating in a shared lunch. - Our licensed commercial kitchen is available for hire. - Small scale gardens will provide fresh herbs and gardening literacy to school and community groups. - More efficient use of food resources already in the district. - Avenues to employment in food and hospitality industries via experience and education in the Community Pantry kitchen.
