• Description : In 2022, the Shire of Leonora embarked on a community project which involved uprooting dead street trees and replace them with mature citrus fruit trees. The aim of this project was to ensure that the community has access to delicious, nutritious fruit in hopes of reducing hunger, improving the natural environment, creating a deeper connection to food, build community and exercise independence from the globalized, industrial food system.
