• Description : The initiative is an arts and cultural centre, and emergent co-living model, where volunteers learn about, establish and maintain annual and perennial ecological food gardens, discover and use environmentally-friendly transport, and engage with community waste renewal systems. Holistic health promotion experiences and initiatives are offered through educational programs, pop up dining and events. A nature playgroup created by volunteers in 2017 runs from a dedicated edible garden space, nature play with Stellar Violets incorporates food growing using wicking beds, herbal tea and potion making, dance and yoga, poultry care, art and craft, and access to seasonal foraged foods. Stellar Violets was registered as a DGR Australian Registered Charity in 2012 prompted by a deep concern over widespread, unsustainable food systems, and human disconnection from the land, and food provenance.
